This website is hosted by Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury.  Our objective is to provide citizens with easy access to the information they need to make an informed choice when they vote, according to their own priorities and preferences.

About Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury

About sudburycandidates.ca

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order, by last name.  All information will be directly taken from the City’s election website, candidates’ official platforms, and candidates’ survey replies. Statements are not extracted from social media feeds or press releases. The source and date will be provided for easy verification of platform statements.

Our focus is providing information relevant to the top priorities of our members, and of local environmental groups. These are sustainable transportation, water quality and natural environment, local food, citizen engagement, and climate change. However, links to the city election webpage and to  other community events and surveys will be made easily accessible to the best of our ability.

We are making every effort to present factual and fair information directly sourced from the candidates. None of the members of the CLS working group responsible for this website are candidates, or working on the campaign of a candidate.

About the survey

Candidates will be invited to fill in a survey with key questions  reflecting the collective top priorities of the local environmental community.  Questions were decided on by consensus at the Spring 2018 Green Gathering (attended by representatives of twelve local groups working towards a more sustainable community).   Check back after Sept. 7 to view candidate replies.

We would like to acknowledge Citizens Climate Lobby – Sudbury, Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury, Friends of Sudbury Transit, Greater Sudbury Community Garden Network, Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council, Greater Sudbury Watershed Alliance, Junction Creek Stewardship Committee, Ramsey Lake Stewardship Committee, reThink Green, Sudbury Cyclists Union, Vermilion River Stewardship, and citizens of Greater Sudbury for their contributions to this survey.
