Simply, that fair, accessible and affordable modes, mediums or means of transportation are made available to all residents.

By insisting bike lanes are no longer an afterthought. That our buses run at times and on routes that benefit the citizens at the right times. That buses can accommodate all people regardless of disability.

We need to focus on what is causing blue green algae and pollution and enforce a way to minimize it

Looking at the problems with run off, septic systems and boat launches that are bringing or allowing pollutants into the lakes.

Natural Environment

1. How will you balance development with protection of the natural environment?
By preserving existing leisure lands as well as insisting recreational opportunities be included and built-in to any future developments.

2. How will you champion opportunities in your ward to fill gaps in parks service and to protect unique natural areas (identified by the Green Space Advisory Panel)?
By meeting with those with expertise to identify which areas are priority areas and which are the most immediate need of preservation or upgrading.

These are all great ideas, however I will need to see evidence and data from all sides before committing to any solid decision for or against.

1. How do you see the city’s role in food system sustainability, access to local food, and the connection to health?
The city can play a key role in promotion of healthy eating and making local healthy food available. The Farmer’s Market is not open long enough or on dates convenient for most residents.

Climate Change


Climate Change Survey Response:

What actions should the municipality take to reduce carbon emissions and improve community resilience in the face of climate change?
Encourage and enhance public transportation. More bike lanes – make the city walkable, rideable and possible to enjoy without having to drive. Why no solar projects or programs at municipal properties? Where is the innovation? We need more ideas and need to champion more unique types of energy saving techniques.
