By creating awareness of this among public and by proper planning.
Although weather is an important factor but still by more awareness and incentives.

Water Quality


Water Quality Survey Responses:

1. In your view, what are the most important steps the city needs to take to protect water quality?
City is doing a good job so far in this concern, so City should keep up the good work and invest more into water testing and public awareness not to pollute out water bodies.

By supporting more funding for water quality testing.
Protecting our lakes should be our number priority and City should not hesitate in investing public tax dollars to this cause. Many actions are possible. I will go back and see what we have done in pass which resulted in success and will adopt that instead of coming up with something absolutely new and trying.

I will work closely with developer and study their plans to make sure if enough precautions have been taken care of to preserve natural environment.

2. How will you champion opportunities in your ward to fill gaps in parks service and to protect unique natural areas (identified by the Green Space Advisory Panel)?
I will study both and come up with a balance not to disturb either.

1. How will you ensure that community consultation is done effectively and openly, with productive dialogue from start to finish for municipal projects and decisions?
By more Community Action Networks and more public input where people can free express themselves about City's projects.

2. How will you ensure a consistent culture of openness and support for public input across all city departments?
It can be done by an e-government concept in which Portal is brought in which connects all City's departments with public and public can leave feedback after service is delivered by a specific individual of a department and in order to get a better rating or not to get a negative feedback, everybody works diligently as public can see this open concept all the time via their computers.

Since I am an IT Consultant and Technologist, I will work closely with City's IT team and encourage other councilors to support me in bring in an open system.

Climate Change


Climate Change Survey Response:

What actions should the municipality take to reduce carbon emissions and improve community resilience in the face of climate change?
For carbon emission we can follow Toronto by introducing a mandatory emission test for all vehicles yearly along with regular checkup of City's buses not to omit carbon monoxide via smoke and similar precautions.
