Transportation

Platform Statement:

Transportation Survey Responses:

1. What does sustainable transportation mean to you?
Every citizen should be able to get to their destination safely, conveniently and affordably whether on foot, in a wheelchair or scooter, on a bicycle, on the bus, or in their own vehicle.

* 2. How are you going to support it in our community?
The transit system should operate 24/7 in every section of our city. Our Handi transit, no exception and bicycle paths should be a norm on any street. Do away with these speed reducing islands made on many of our streets.
Convince council that the transit system is a 24/7 responsibility. Adapt policies that all streets should have at least, two lanes for vehicular traffic, one 48 inch bicycle path plus a sidewalk on one side of the street.
* Above includes answer to Top Public Question 3. What are you going to do to enhance walking, bicycling and transit usage in Greater Sudbury over the next 4 years?

Water Quality

Platform Statement:

Water Quality Survey Responses:

1. In your view, what are the most important steps the city needs to take to protect water quality?
Always first is the idea that everyone should protect our water (educate public). The city's responsibility is to plan, manage and enforce regulations in regards to our water.

* 2. How are you going to support it in our community?
We have to make people understand that the responsibility is not only on the city, we have to do our share to protect the environment. We scream at the blue algae and I have walked the beaches of our city and it is disgusting how people can make a beautiful site look like a dump site.
Promotional plan to educate investors, contractors, city planners, council and the population. I plan on working towards a campaign that would be city wide to show the Do's and Don'ts, to get everyone on the same page towards protecting our precious resources.
* Above includes answer to Top Public Question 1. What plan do you have to protect and sustain our many lakes? What actions will you take to support your plan? What resources will you devote?

When and where if I ever see these proposals, I will judge the merit and proceed using the available tools at my disposal. I enjoy the outdoors in all four seasons and love our area.

Platform Statement:

Local Food Survey Responses:

1. How do you see the city’s role in food system sustainability, access to local food, and the connection to health?
I have no problem with the meat, vegetables and fruits produced in our region. The city has to make a point on saving our farms from development, encouraging our producers to excel in their work.

* 2. How would you develop local agriculture and fresh water and forest foods?
After soil samples have been taken and analysed, encourage our farmers thru strategy planning, to grow what is best suited from their land. Forest contractors, to return the land to produce from replanting sustainable cover for wild life and forestry for our future.

Citizen Engagement Survey Responses:

1. How will you ensure that community consultation is done effectively and openly, with productive dialogue from start to finish for municipal projects and decisions?
Any major project should always have the ideas of all concerns, the investors, the people and the city, when all facts and discussions are over let the people who were voted in make the sensible decisions.

2. How will you ensure a consistent culture of openness and support for public input across all city departments?
I intend to represent the voice of my ward and city. I will not be intimidated by council or management when it comes from the people I represent.

(e) Ensuring easily accessible, complete and searchable information on the City website

Explanation:
Council should act as if 160,000 people are attending each and every meeting, this is how open city hall has to be. Wide open about all activities and making sure the people are aware.

I want change but I need more info on how to proceed, I don't want to spend enormous amount of taxpayers money if we start running without a positive direction.
