What will you do to support meaningful citizen engagement in municipal policies and decisions, and to support citizen-led community improvements?

Candidate namequestion_5
Chris Bentley Citizens want to know they are being heard when they have concerns. They expect their Councillor to listen, investigate and provide answers to their questions. They want to feel like part of the process. That is fair, considering it is their hard-earned tax dollars that we are putting to work.
Jesse Brooks Working with VECAN is an excellent way to support citizen led engagement. I am already working with others in our community trying to improve our local beaches, increase anti-poverty initiatives, grow our volunteer base and a whole bunch more. The more involved we are in the community the better our kids will fare in the future.
René Lapierre (incumbent) I believe the improvement that have been made in the last four years have been excellent. I think there is always room for improvements. Better us of technology would be one area, that could maximize community involvement. Encourage and promote the advisory panels to council with presentations of their roles, and whenever possible have an increased presence at large public event to share information and updates face to face with residents who attend these events.
