Platform statements

Candidate nameSustainable Transportation
Jessica Bertrand
Eric Lachance

We need a safe means of connecting our various communities together may it be thru bike paths, trails and/or roads.  We have to do better to ensure our citizens aren’t dodging potholes, wondering where pavement markings are, jumping over poorly maintained sidewalk sections or avoiding hypodermic needles.  I understand the importance of building and maintaining sidewalks so our children, seniors and people with limited mobility can have a safe place to travel.  People need to feel safe when getting around and they shouldn’t be afraid of taking a healthy and environmentally friendly transportation alternative.  In Azilda, we should have a sidewalk that goes from the Tim Horton’s all the way to the Lionel Lalonde Centre.”

Geoff McCausland

“I will advocate for smarter transit.”
“I will advocate investing in sustainable infrastructure by looking at long-term planning, and limiting infrastructure expansion until we can fix what is already in use today. “
